In a scenario that is increasingly attentive to legal compliance, corporate integrity and organizational culture, the implementation of internal policies and whistleblowing channels have become indispensable for mitigating labor risks, promoting a healthy environment and strengthening internal governance.

In this sense, the need to implement well-defined internal policies has never been more evident in order to guarantee a more organized working environment and legal certainty for your company. They have become a cornerstone of organization and predictability in working relationships, guiding conduct and action on the rights and duties of employees and the company itself.

The main policies that must be formalized and actively implemented include:

  • Internal Regulations: Document that defines the rights and duties of all employees, regardless of their hierarchical level;
  • Code of Conduct and Ethics: Establishes the values and principles that guide behavior in the company;
  • Anti-Corruption Policy: Defines rules to prevent and combat illicit practices;
  • Harassment and Discrimination Policy: Prevents and predicts inappropriate conduct;
  • Privacy and Data Protection Policy: Ensures compliance with the LGPD in the management of sensitive and confidential information;
  • Inclusion and Diversity Policy: Promotes a diverse environment, reducing the risk of discrimination and strengthening the organizational culture;
  • Awards Policy: Establishes rules for granting incentives, ensuring transparency and alignment with the company’s strategic objectives, as well as guaranteeing legal compliance so as not to mischaracterize the characteristics and benefits of the award;

The Whistleblowing Channel is a fundamental tool for ensuring that employees can report irregular situations without fear of retaliation and for preventing irregularities within the organization. Its main characteristics are accessibility, confidentiality, independence, speed of investigation and transparency, which not only provides the company with protection for its employees, but also prevents litigation and demonstrates a commitment to corporate ethics.

In addition, it is extremely important that we address the updates to NR-1, in accordance with MTE Ordinance No. 1,419/2024. This standard brings significant changes to occupational health and safety management, including psychosocial risks in the Risk Management Program (PGR).

All companies have until May 25, 2025 to implement these updates, so it is recommended to create and implement a specific internal policy for this adaptation, which will not only demonstrate the company’s concern with complying with the new requirements, but will also stipulate the adaptation mechanisms and the necessary documentation to ensure compliance.

Companies that implement internal policies and whistleblowing channels strengthen their governance, protect their employees and build a solid reputation in the market. In addition, they significantly reduce the risks of fines, labor lawsuits and damage to the institutional image.

If your company doesn’t yet have consolidated internal policies and/or a structured whistleblowing channel, this is the ideal time to act. Our team is on hand to help you.
